Allen Nelson Rowe, 86, of Nixa, Mo., died Aug. 8, 2001 at Cox Medical Center South.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Dale Bond officiating.

Allen Rowe was born Oct. 20, 1914 to A. H. and Nellie (Gattenby) Rowe of Macksburg. He was a Navy Seabees veteran, having served in the South Pacific. On Jan. 10, 1949, he married Ina Nelson in Omaha, Neb. They made their home in California where he was a welder in the construction business. He retired in 1974. Allen was active in the Nixa Senior Center and also was a member of American Legion Post 676 and a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church in Nixa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Merna Rowe of Macksburg; two nieces, Jane Putnam of Albuquerque, N. M., and Shirley Burk (husband Larry) of Lorimor; a nephew Bruce Rowe (wife Freda) of Glendale, Ariz.; and a great-niece.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, Mo.
