Donald and Bernadene Sealine, Dexter

Donald L. Sealine, 64, and Bernadene A. Sealine, 67, both of Dexter, are presumed drowned after disappearing July 10 when their truck was overcome by floodwaters in Carson. A joint memorial service was held July 31 at the First congregational Church in Stuart.

Mr. Sealine was born April 14, 1929 in Stanhope to Reuben and Edna (Nelson) Sealine. Mrs. Sealine was born April 24, 1926 in Dallas Center to Gilbert and Beatrice (Sampery) Kirk. They married in Waukee on March 6, 1955. They worked together in farming and trucking. Mr. Sealine was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Adair County Lamb and Wool Growers Association. He also was president of the Corn Belt Lamb Electronic Market and was a 4-H leader. He served with the 21st Combat engineers in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mrs. Sealine was active in Working Band at Fairview Church and Rainbow Girls. She also served as a 4-H leader.

They are survived by a son, Steven and wife Cheryl of Earlham; a daughter, Loree Sealine of New London, Wis.; four grandchildren. Another son, Bradley, died July 26 of injuries suffered in an auto accident near Stuart. Mrs. Sealine is survived by two brothers, Clinton of Des Moines and Nyle of Princeton, Mo., and a sister, Charlotte Jensen of Arvada, Colo.
