1969ERNEST ROSS OF ST. CHARLES DIES
Ernest H. Ross of St. Charles died enroute to a Des Moines hospital last Thursday, June 5. He was 48 years of age.
Mr. Ross was a native of Jasper County, where he was born Feb. 19, 1921, a son of Harry and Mabel Tice Ross. He served in the U. S. armed forces in World War II. He had lived the last 20 years in Madison county at Winterset and St. Charles. He was a mechanic by trade and operated a garage.
He was married July 16, 1942 to Irma Hoyt, who survives him. He also leaves five children, Larry Ross of Winterset, Thomas L. Ross who is stationed in Bermuda with the U. S. navy, Mrs. Gary Spencer of Winterset and Merijean and Samuel L. Ross at home; a brother, Everett Ross of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Carlson of Des Moines and Mrs. Zola Wilson and Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Rapid City. S. Dak.
Funeral services were held Monday from Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by L. M. Heifner of Perry. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
