Funeral Services Held on Sunday at Methodist Church

St. Charles--Mrs. H. B. Scott, life-long resident of this community, died Thursday, July 5 at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. She was 68 years of age.

Mrs. Scott was the former Mattie Ione Johnston, daughter of Samuel and Matisha Phipps Johnston, and was born Sept. 16, 1882, near St. Charles.

She was married Jan. 9, 1907, to Harry B. Scott. They were the parents of a son, who died in 1908, and a daughter, now Mrs. Cleona Potter of Burbank, Calif.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the St. Charles Methodist church.

In addition to her husband and daughter, Mrs. Scott leaves six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church here Sunday in charge of the Rev. G. Eldon Haworth. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
