ALBERT ARMSTRONG OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Services for 85-Year-Old Resident Held Last Saturday

(St. Charles--Special)

Albert Armstrong, retired farmer, who had lived in St. Charles for 22 years, died Thursday, May 10, at his home here. He was 85 years of age.

Mr. Armstrong was born on a farm in Warren county, near St. Marys, on April 1, 1866, a son of William and Martha Armstrong. He was married Dec. 14, 1887, to Nora Reither. They started housekeeping on a farm one mile north of the Broadhorn church near here where they lived for 42 years, before retiring and moving into St. Charles in 1929.

Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong were the parents of five children. One daughter, Lesta, preceded the father in death. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Carrie; three sons, Clyde, Boyd and Jesse Armstrong; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Ohio Baptist church at Broadhorn from 1916 until his death. He was also a member of the Old Settlers' association of Madison and Warren counties.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Church of Christ, with the Rev. Tom Foglesong of Des Moines, officiating. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
