OBITUARY

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church, Friday, December 7 for Grace Mitchell Secrest, who passed away Wednesday, December 5, at the age of 73 years, three months, and one day. She was born September 4, 1878 in Wayne county, Illinois.

In the year 1898 on the 9th day of October, she was united in marriage to Curtis B. Secrest (who preceded her in death on July 4, 1941).

Of this union nine children were born: Everett of Macksburg; Eva of Joliet, Illinois; Minnie of Tucson, Arizona; Leona of Detroit, Michigan; Russell of Lansing, Michigan; Leslie of Stuart; Geraldine of Waterville, Iowa and Mary Catherine of Detroit, Michigan. Also a daughter, (Lula, who preceded her in death), 16 grandchildren and anine great grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Sank Kieger and one brother, Homer Vanfassan and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church, and was a wonderful mother and friend to all. She was always ready to help those in need and will be sadly missed by all.

Interment was in the Earlham cemetery.
