1962CHESTER ROGERS DIED ON SUNDAY
Had Returned to Winterset Recently After Six Years in Newton
Chester A. Rogers, a well-known resident of Winterset during most of his life, died Sunday Sept. 30 at his home here. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Rogers was born in Winterset October 2, 1903, a son of Albert R. and Gennie Moore Rogers. His life was spent here until six years ago when he moved to Newton. He returned to Winterset just a month prior to his death.
He followed the trade of bricklayer and builder during his working life in this community.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ora Baude Rogers; a son, Jerry L. Rogers of Indianola; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Pigneri of Garden Grove, Calif.; two stepsons, Glenn Baude of Vallejo, Calif., and James Baude of Muskogee, Okla.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Rogers of Winterset and Robert Rogers of Clarinda; and three sisters, Mrs. Lyle Smith of Macksburg, Mrs. William Pattee of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Howard Scott of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Walter A. Samp of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
