Winter LaVonne Robinson, 93, of Bradenton, Fla., died of a respiratory ailment Nov. 15, 1997 at her home. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at Iowa Center. Cooper Funeral Home of Maxwell will be handling the arrangements.
LaVonne was born July 2, 1904 in Madison County to O. W. and Lucy (Walker) Alexander. She was a graduate of Winterset High School and later attended Iowa State University and Drake University where she received a B. S. degree in elementary education. She taught country school for nine years and in 1930 was listed in Who's Who in the State of Iowa under education. In 1934, she married Clay Robinson of Maxwell, where the couple made their home until Clay's death in 1966. She was a member of the Rebecca and Alpha Women's Clubs of Maxwell, the Kappa Sigma Honorary Education Sorority, the Golden 50 yr. Club of Drake University and was also a member of the Maxwell Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Alvin; and one sister, Jessie.
Surviving relatives include one sister-in-law, Gertrude Helene Alexander of Earlham.
