HELEN SIMPSON, Winterset

Services for Helen Missel Simpson, 73, Winterset, who died Nov. 1 at the Winterset Care Center North where she resided, were held Monday, Nov. 4, at the De Soto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery.

Miss Simpson was born in Winterset July 5, 1912, the daughter of Ralph and Louise Barnes Simpson. She was a retired bookkeeper and cashier at Budget Finance Co. in Des Moines.

She lived in Winerset approximately one year and in De Soto for two years after coming from Des Moines. She was active in the Shriners Auxiliary and was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include sons, Frederick of De Soto and William of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Mary Jane Thurman of Lorimor; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
