MISS CORA PAERKER

Miss Cora Parker was born in Omaha, Nebr., Jan. 29, 1876 and died in St. Catharine's Home, Des Moines, Friday, July 9, 1915, aged 38 years, 5 months and 20 days.

She was left an orphan so early in life that she had no recollection of her parents. Early in life she was cared for by an uncle and aunt in Davenport, Iowa. After their death, she was cared for by a Davenport institution that sought to cure her of her physical deformity.

The past 17 years she has lived in Des Moines, supporting herself as a seamstress of exceptional ability, sewing only for people of refined tastes and exacting skill. She was loved by all who knew her and ever appreciative of loving gifts her friends gladly bestowed upon her.

Short funeral services were conducted in Des Moines Sunday. The body was brought to Winterset Monday morning, accompanied by Mrs. W. D. Dayliff of Chicago and Mrs. J. L. Coffman, Mrs. Eunice Hawkins, Mrs. Hulda Ensign and Mrs. Clara Bevington, all of Des Moines. At 9 a.m., Rev Hohanshelt conducted a service at the home of Mrs. Kendig on Court avenue, and burial was in Rock City cemetery. The large floral offering expressed a wealth of love of a large circle of friends.
