William "Bill" E. Robbins, 66, of Winterset died July 21, 2005 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 25, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset with Pastor Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Montpelier Cemetery in rural Patterson.
Bill Robbins was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Des Moines to Rollie E. and Ruby (Newkirk) Robbins Sr. and was a graduate of Patterson High School. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Ober and later Virginia Stuart-Hill. On July 3, 1979, he married Rosemarie Radford in Bondurant. During his career, Bill worked construction with Ringlin-Johnson & Crowley and Neuman Brothers, both of Des Moines. He retired in 2003 following 18 years of service as an electrician at Camp Dodge. He was a member of Labors Union Local 177 and was a union steward with AFSCME Local 3013. He also was a Boy Scout leader for troops in Peru and Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanne Sue Robbins and a son, Rollie Russell Robbins.
He is survived by his wife Rosi, of Winterset; eight children, Marie Deaton of Des Moines, Beverly Jenks of Orilla, Dawn Robbins of Patterson, T. J. Driscoll of Ashley, Ill., Tammy Buono of Bradley, Ill., Tim Driscoll of Joshua, Texas, Joe Driscoll of Norwalk and Jim Driscoll of Carlisle; a sister, Marjie Robbins of Patterson; two brothers, Rollie Robbins, Jr. of Des Moines and John Robbins of Patterson; and 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
