HAROLD SMITH Rites Held

Funeral services for Harold E. (Heavy) Smith were held Saturday, March 21, 1981, at Grandview Funeral Home in Des Moines.

Mr. Smith died Wednesday, March 18, 1981, in a traffic accident south of Winterset. He was 71 years of age.

A lifetime resident of Madison County, he was born in Scott Township.

In 1970, he retired from Iowa Concrete in West Des Moines where he was employed as a factory worker. He was a member of the Iowa Coon Hunters Association and attended the Nazarene Church in Winterset

Mr. Smith is survived by a daughter, Sharon Cleaver of Des Moines; a son, Dean Smith of Winterset; a brother, James Smith of St. Charles; three sisters, Erma Scrivner of St. Charles, Edna Honnold of Lorimor, and Esther Read of Winterset; his mother Mabel Smith of Winterset; and six grandchildren.

Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Des Moines.
