ENA M. SMITH, rural St. Charles

Services for Ena Maude Smith, 73, rural St. Charles, who died Sept. 19, 1989, at the Winterset Care Center North, were held Friday, Sept. 22, at the United Parish Church at St. Charles with the Rev. Tom Webster of St. Charles officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.

Born in rural St. Charles on Dec. 2, 1915, she was the daughter of Frank and Almetta Van Scoy Bradshaw. She attended St. Charles schools and was married to James "Cap" Smith on Feb. 24, 1938 at Shenandoah.

She was a homemaker and a life-long resident of St. Charles and a member of the United Methodist Church Women.

Survivors include her husband; a son Clair Smith and wife Helen of Martensdale; a daughter, Bonnie and husband, Marvin Kirscher of Osceola, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

She ws preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
