ELVA LEE SMITH

Elva Lee Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Smith, was born May 28, 1895 at Lorimor, Iowa, and passed away March 22, 1974, at Fort Smith, Ark. at the age of 78.

He was married February 14, 1914 to Martha Thompson in Union County. He was a retired farmer and spent his life in Madison and Union Counties.

Besides his wife Martha, a son Harold Smith and his wife Edna of Muldrow, Oklahoma, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a brother Oren Smith and a sister, Mrs. Edna Gephart and other relatives survive.

His parents and a daughter Erma preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 26, from the First United Methodist Church in Macksburg. Rev. Willis Grant officiating. Burial was in the Moon Cemetery with Watts-Soll-Lindsay Funeral Services directing.
