Winterset Madisonian, Friday, 19 Apr 1895, page 2

Miss Rosette Nunn, formerly of Patterson, but late of Des Moines, died a few days ago. Her mother and brother, Jack Nunn are both very sick, and recovery considered doubtful. Another brother, John Nunn, was quite sick but has recovered.

Transcriber’s note: Although there are a handful of “Nunns” in the 1870 and 1880 Madison County census, the names mentioned in this item are not among them. Jack Nunn was noted as also passing away the following week.

Patterson and East Union (delayed)

The people of this place were sadly surprised on the morning of the 15th to learn of the death of one of their former young girls of 13 summers, Miss Zettie Nun. She was living at the time of her death at Des Moines. The funeral took place on Tuesday of last week at Carlisle, where her father and two sisters are buried. Her mother is past all hopes of recovery with the same fever.
