BRUCE SMITH Funeral At St. Charles

Bruce L. Smith, 76, a retired farmer of rural St. Charles, died Monday, Feb. 20, 1978, at his home. He was born October 30, 1901, in Warren County, the son of LeRoy and Flora Bond Smith. He lived in Madison County for 23 years.

Mr. Smith was married to Ruby Alice Alexander on May 18, 1929, in Shenandoah, Iowa. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church and a member of the Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby; three sons, Charles of Marshalltown; Fred of St. Charles and David of New Virginia; two daughters, Joan Files of Oklahoma City and Vera Albright of Nicholasville, Ky., 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister, Edna Crow of Prole.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant twins, a son and daughter.

Funeral services for Bruce L. Smith were conducted Thursday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. from St. Charles Parish in St. Charles, Rev. Roland Towell officiating. Burial was made at the Linn Grove Cemetery in Warren County.
