Services for Chris Rickets, 17, Winterset, who died June 21 at the Bethesda Care Center, were held Mon., June 25 at Winterset High School with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

The youth had a rare form of cancer and fundraisers had been held in the community to help with the family's medical expenses.

Born in Des Moines on March 7, 1973, he was the son of Mark E. and Linda England Rickets. He had lived in Winterset all his life and was a student at Winterset High School and a member of the Four Square Gospel Church.

Survivors include his parents; grandparents, Raymond and Doris Rickets and Willard and Jerrie England; a brother, Curtis; and a sister, Silvia.
