Services for Glen Rhone, 68, Truro, who died Feb. 3 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Janne Clinton officiating. Burial was at the Ebenezer Cemetery.

Born Sept. 23, 1916 in Madison County, he was the son of Clyde W. and Grace Foland Rhone. He was married Oct. 11, 1937 at Bethany, Mo., to Mary E. Robshaw.

Mr. Rhone was a retired farmer and had lived in the Truro area all his life. He was a member of the Peru Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for young boys.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Jim of Union City, Calif., and Terry of Mt. Ayr; a daughter, Patricia Gabel of El Cajon, Calif.; four grandchildren; and sisters, Lora Tryon and Wilma Pollard, both of El Cajon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Glen Franklin Rhone, son of Clyde W. and Grace Jane Foland Rhone, was born September 23, 1916 in Madison County, Iowa and departed this life February 3, 1985 at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 68 years.

He received his education in Barney and Peru, Iowa graduating from Peru High School. He spent most of his life in the Madison County area.

He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church at Peru. He taught the Young Boy’s Sunday School Class for several years.

He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Robshaw on October 11, 1937 and three children were born to this union.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Truro; two sons, Jim D. and wife, Donna of Union City, California and Terry E. (Skip) and wife, Susan of Mt. Ayr; one daughter, Patricia R. Gabel and husband, Charles Larry of El Cajon, California; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lora Tryon and Wilma Pollard, both of El Cajon, California; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro on Wednesday, February 6, with Rev. Janne Clinton officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Madison County, Iowa.
