REBECCA E. MONROE

Rebecca Ellen Mackey, daughter of James and Anna Mackey, was born in Fayette county, Ohio, April 12, 1840 and passed to the great beyond at her home in Peru, July 19, 1923, aged 83 years, 3 months, 7 days.

Her home was in Ohio until 1875. She was married Dec. 12, 1875, to William H. Monroe, in Madison County, Iowa. The husband passed away in July, 1909. She maintained her own home in Peru until last February, when having a serious accident, which confined to her bed, she was moved to the home of her nephew, J. G. Farr, where she was cared for until her death.

Her sisters and brothers have all passed away. She leaves three stepsons and many nieces, nephews and sincere friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Peru by Rev. L. B. Shannon. Burial at Ebenezer cemetery.
