S. DARNALL DIED LAST THURSDAY

Heart Attack Is Fatal to Former Winterset Resident

Salathiel Darnall, a resident of Winterset for most of his life and a former business man here, died last Thursday, Jan. 5, at his home in Indianola. He had been in failing health for several years. He had sustained a paralytic stroke in 1942, but a heart ailment was the immediate cause of death.

Mr. Darnall was born in Winterset April 4, 1878, and was 71 years of age at his death. He was a son of George T. and Elizabeth Leinard Darnall. He was married Aug. 31, 1899, to Sadie F. Cridling.

With the exception of six years at Ames and the last four years at Indianola, his entire life was spent in Winterset. He was active in the Knights of Pythias lodge for many years, and had been a member of the Masonic order for 43 years.

Surviving are his wife; his son, J. H. Darnall; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. E. W. Frohardt of the Indianola Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
