Shirley L. Wickham, 76, of Earlham died Dec. 11, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 15, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
Shirley Wickham was born May 28, 1930, in Des Moines to W.H. and Virgie Lucille (McKibben) Brown. She grew up in Zearing and was a 1947 graduate of Zearing High School. She was united in marriage to Harold Wickham. Shirley worked in the banking industry for many years, including banks in Zearing, Ames and the Brenton Bank in Adel, from where she retired in 1986. She later worked for Iowa Power in the customer service department, retiring in 1992. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Wickham.
She is survived by two daughters, Roxanne Rowe of Helene, Mont.; and Debbie Burrell of Tularosa, N.M.; two brothers, Bill Brown of Urbandale and Ed Brown of Windsor, Colo.; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the CRISP program via the Winterset Elementary School.

Page 2Shirley L. (Brown) Wickham, 76, of Earlham, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A memorial service will be held 1030 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2006 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. The family will gather with friends immediately following at a reception to be held at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset. Memorial contributions may be directed to CRISP Program via the Winterset Elementary School.
Shirley was born May 28, 1930 in Des Moines, the daughter of W.H. and Virgie Lucille (McKibben) Brown. She grew up in Zearing, Iowa and was a 1947 graduate of Zearing High School. She married Harold Wickham and to this union three children were born, Roxanne, Debbie and Steven.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting and for many years knitted many items such as sweaters and mittens for the needy children. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing canasta.
As well as being a homemaker and mother Shirley worked in banking for many years. She was employed in Banks at Zearing, Ames, and finally at the Brenton Bank in Adel from where she retired in 1986. Later she worked for Iowa Power in their customer service department, retiring in 1992.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Roxanne Rowe and husband Loyd of Helena, MT; Debbie Burrell and husband Jim of Tularosa, NM; two brothers, Bill Brown and wife, Avis of Urbandale; Ed Brown and wife, Louise of Windsor, CO; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Steven Wickham.
