Grace Marie Bills, 93, of Osceola died Dec. 12, 2006, at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 16, at the First Christian Church in Osceola with the Rev. Phillip Coe officiating. Burial was at Hopeville Cemetery.
Grace Bills was born Feb. 6, 1913, to Arthur and Letha (Gunn) Jungst of Afton and was a graduate of Afton High School. On Oct. 17, 1933, she was united in marriage to Earle F. Bills at the Evangelical Church in Afton. Grace and her husband farmed for most of their working life, retiring in 1976. Following retirement, they moved to Osceola. Besides farming, Grace worked as an assistant dietary cook at several care centers around Winterset for 16 years. She was active in the Barney Christian Church and Ladies Aid group for more than 30 years and the Osceola Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Ellen Kendoll of Troutdale, Ore.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Guffey of Bella Vista, Ark.; four sons, George Bills of Thurmont, Md., Harold Bills of Altoona, Glenn Bills of Seattle, Wash., and Kenneth Bills of Ames; three brothers, Edward Jungst of Nevada, Iowa, Robert Jungst of Creston, and Richard Jungst of Littleton, Colo.; one sister, Lucille Vogel of Auburn, Neb.; and 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund established in Grace’s name for the Osceola Christian Church.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home in Osceola.
