MRS. LAURA REID DIED THURSDAY

Funeral Services Held Here Saturday, With Burial At Earlham

Mrs. Laura Reid of Winterset died here Thursday, Oct. 3, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maude Bennett. She was 82 years of age, and had been bedfast more than three years.

Mrs. Reid was the former Laura Bruett and was born in Jackson township Nov. 8, 1880. She was married Sept. 3, 1907 to John L. Reid. Their active life was spent farming in Madison County. Mr. Reid preceded her in death March 20, 1959. Their only son John Russell Reid, died in 1949.

In early life Mrs. Reid was a member of the Early Chapel Christian church transferring to the First Christian church in Winterset in 1913.

Surviving relatives include the daughter, Mrs. Bennett of Winterset; a grandson, John Bennett of Arvada, Colo., and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
