Miss Lulu Moore died Saturday noon, September 14th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Benson, east of Winterset. Miss Moore had seemingly been in good health and her death came as a distinct shock to relatives and friends. The Bensons and some guests had been eating the noon meal. They had finished eating and were sitting at the table when the heart attack came upon Miss Moore, and she died within a few minutes.
Miss Moore, who was sixty years of age, had been in Madison county for the past 59 years. She came to Winterset twenty years ago and during the past ten years had done practical nursing in this community. She had taken an active interest in the Rebekah lodge for many years.
The Rev. F. Clare McCallon conducted the funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on East Court avenue, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and burial was in the Peru cemetery. More details of her life may be found in the mortuary column.
