MRS. IDA M. REED DIES AT 94 YEARS

Resident of Madison County For Half Century Died Last Thursday

Mrs. Ida May Reed, a resident of Winterset for many years, died Thursday, Feb. 9, at a St. Charles nursing home. She was 94 years of age.

Mrs. Reed was a native of Altoona, where she was born May 14, 1872, a daughter of James H. and Amelia Joy. Her home had been in Madison county for 50 years. She was a member of the First Christian church in Winterset.

She was married in Illinois in 1898 to James W. Reed. His death occurred in 1925. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Roy in 1903 and Ray in 1960.

Surviving are two sons, Clyde W. Reed of Des Moines and Claude H. Reed of Osceola; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. William Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in Fairview Cemetery.
