Clyde Wilkins Reed, Winterset

Clyde Wilkins Reed of Winterset, died Monday, June 27, at the Bethesda Care Center at the age of 80. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, June 29, at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens near Des Moines.

Born in Madison County, he lived in Des Moines for 20 years until his retirement in 1964 from Des Moines City Plumbing. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 90 and the Highland Park Open Bible.

Survivors include his wife Velma Reed of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons Paul of Des Moines and Glenn of Winterset; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Edith, step-son Jack Harris and a grandchild.

Clyde W. Reed, 80, of Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, died of a heart ailment Monday at the center. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Born in Madison County, Mr. Reed lived in Des Moines 20 years and Winterset since 1964. He was a retired warehouse supplier at City Plumbing Supply and was a member of Teamsters Union 90 and Highland Park Open Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife, Velma of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons Paul W. of Des Moines and Glenn R. of Winterset, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
