Alice Evelyn Reed, 35, of Winterset died of cancer Sept. 22, 2003 at Mercy Hospice House in Johnston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Winterset with Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 24 from noon to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Alice Reed was born June 17, 1968 to Jerry Waltz and Evalee Thompson in Winterset. She married Mark Reed in Winterset on May 6, 1989. A lifetime resident of Winterset, she had been a secretary with Farm Bureau Insurance in Des Moines and a homemaker. She was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; son, Blake; daughter, Bailey; parents Jerry and Evalee Waltz of Winterset; and sisters Sharon Waltz of Sioux City and Lori Carpenter of Waukee.
