Life-Long Resident of This Community Was 81 Years of Age
Nellie Stewart, a life-long resident of the Winterset community, died here Sunday, Nov. 25, after an extended period of failing health. She was 81 years of age.
Miss Stewart was born in Madison county, Sept. 5, 1875, a daughter of John and Nancy Stewart. Her life was spent in this community. She was well known here, being employed in several stores and businesses over a long period of years.
She had been a member of the United Presbyterian church in Winterset since 1890.
Only surviving near relative is a brother, Frank Stewart of Leon.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Anderson's home for funerals here, conducted by the Rev. S. C. Pickens, pastor of the Winterset United Presbyterian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
