One of the early settlers of Madison county, Grandmother Stafford, passed away yesterday, her death occurring about eleven o’clock in the forenoon. She was far advanced in years, nearly ninety. The Stafford family settled just east of the present city limits at an early day and helped to develop their young country.

Mrs. Stafford, mother of W. E. Stafford, of this place, died last Thursday. She was about ninety years old, an old and respected citizen of this county.
