Funeral Monday For George Ragan

George Floyd Ragan, owner of Ragan Radio and Television in Winterset, died at his home at 501 N. 2nd. St. on Jan. 5. He was 40 years of age.

A son of Benjamin and Dola Ragan, he was born in Madison county on Oct 18, 1932. Mr. Ragan was a lifetime resident of the county and president of the Madison County Covered Bridge Citizens Band club.

He was married to Catherine Simpson in Winterset on May 29, 1952, and is survived by her and their three children, all of whom live at home. Those children are George Jr., Barbara and Carolyn.

Also surviving Mr. Ragan are his father, Ben Ragan of Winterset; two brothers, Benjamin Ragan, Seattle, Wash., Delbert Ragan, Long Island, N.Y.; and three sisters, Sarah Gunter, Winterset, Virginia Kirk, Lorimor and Doris Jackson, Winterset.

Mr. Ragan was preceded in death by his mother, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Charles Updike conducted the services.
