November 16, 1988Emerald A. "Joe" Pullman, Jr., Osceola
Services for Emerald A. "Joe" Pullman Jr., 63, Osceola, who died Nov. 12 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Collins Funeral Home with Eldon Stowell and John Guikema officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside rites by the VFW post 8142.
Born in Cameron, Mo., on April 17, 1925, he was the son of Emerald A. Pullman, Sr. and Lena Leona Senn. He was a tire builder with Armstrong Rubber Co. and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Pullman lived 12 years in Carlisle and formerly lived in Winterset. He was a member of North Acres Gospel Chapel in Des Moines.
On June 15, 1952, he was married to Eunice E. Bathurst in Greenfield.
Survivors include his wife of Osceola; sons, Michael J. and wife Donna and Gregory A., all of New Virginia; daughters, Linda J. and husband Myron Casterline and Laurie J., all of Osceola; sisters, Wendy Pullman and Charmaine Ward, both of Des Moines, Sylvia Benson of Winterset and LaVonne Emery of Omaha, Neb.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
