Mrs. Joe McDonald died at her home in Scott township this Wednesday morning, Oct. 3, at the age of 71 years.
Mrs. McDonald was the former Anna Faye Stark. She is survived by her husband and two sons.
Funeral arrangements have been set tentatively for this Friday afternoon, from the Richards Funeral home. The Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Chase-McDonald cemetery.

Wednesday, October 10, 1956MRS. JOE McDONALD BURIED LAST WEEK
Funeral services were held last Friday from the Richard's Funeral home for Mrs. Joseph McDonald, whose death had occurred last Wednesday, Oct. 3, at her home in Scott township. The Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
Mrs. McDonald was 71 years of age. She was the former Anna Fay Stark, daughter of Thomas W. and Belle Stark, and was born at Winterset, Feb. 8, 1885. She graduated from the Winterset high school with the class of 1904, and for three years taught school in this county.
She was married Feb. 27, 1907, to Joseph A. McDonald. They would have completed 50 years of married life in less than five more months.
Most of her life was spent on farms in Iowa, but from 1920 until 1940, the family lived on a farm in South Dakota.
Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Methodist church, taking an active part in its affairs.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Lucien H. McDonald of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Dean S. McDonald of Madrid; three sisters, Mrs. Lee Chase of Winterset, Mrs. Alta Deden of Mitchell, S. Dak., and Mrs. Leon Larson of Wilmington, Calif.; a brother, Thomas B. Stark of Mt. Vernon, S., Dak.; and four grandchildren.
