Lewis Price, the son of Orval and Nancy Rich Price, was born March 16, 1916 in Burr Oak, Kansas. He passed away at his home in Earlham on March 3, 1982.

Lewis spent his first years in Kansas but moved to Iowa with his family as a young boy. He attended Earlham school and graduated in 1934.

In 1939 Lewis was united in marriage to Mildred Taylor. One son, Russell, was born to this union. Mildred passed away in 1960.

For 35 years Lewis owned and operated Price Truck Line in Des Moines. In 1975 he retired because of failing health.

On May 26, 1963 he was united in marriage to Frances Hill in Des Moines. Since 1977 they have made their home in Earlham.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Earlham and has served as an Elder for several years.

Survivors include his loving wife, Frances; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Monika of Kaiser Slaughter, Germany; one grandson, Robert of Oakland, California; one step son Wayne Fastle and his wife Donna of Earlham and two step granddaughters, Susanne and Jeanette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and wife Mildred.

Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham, Iowa on March 6, 1982 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gladys P. Priest officiating. Mrs. Donna Fastle provided organ music. The Church Floral Committee was in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers were Earl Anker, John Godby, Ken Harris, John Hunter, Paul Marston and John Thrailkill. Honorary casket bearers were Bob Bobst, Ralph Hunter, Gale Marston, Amor Routh, Earl Schalkle and Harry Skaggs.

Interment was at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, at First Presbyterian Church in Earlham for Lewis B. Price, who died at his home in Earlham on March 3. He was 66 years old.

Born March 16, 1916 in Burr Oak, Kansas, he was the son of Orval and Nancy Rich Price. His family moved to Iowa when he was a young boy. He attended Earlham school, graduating in 1934.

In 1939 he married Mildred Taylor. One son, Russell, was born to the couple. Mildred died in 1960.

Mr. Price owned and operated Price Truck Line in Des Moines for 35 years, retiring in 1975.

On May 26, 1963 he married Frances Hill in Des Moines. Since 1977 they made their home in Earlham.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Earlham, serving many years as an Elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; and one brother.
