ROY PRESTON OF WINTERSET DIES

Had Been Resident of This Community for 71 Years

Roy Preston, a resident of Madison county for 71 years, died Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Preston was born Aug. 14, 1884, at Galesburg, Ill. A son of David and Mary Hall Preston, he came here with his parents when a small child.

His active life was spent in farming, from which he had been retired in recent years.

He was married March 11, 1946, at Troy, Kan. to Arvilla Bruner, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mary Ann; a son, William R. Preston; and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Libby of Winterset and Mrs. Amy Armstrong of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Grace Baptist church in Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Richard E. Mohr. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
