Mrs. Elsie Powell Dies At Creston

Mrs. Elsie Powell of Creston died at Creston Manor Nursing home there Thursday, June 8 at the age of 74 years.

Mrs. Powell was a native of Madison county. She was the former Elsie Sheldon, daughter of Harry and Lucy Vancroft Sheldon, and was born July 12, 1897. She was married here Feb. 20, 1916, to Archie R. Powell. His death occurred May 1, 1972.

Surviving are two sons, Glen Powell of Carson and Raymond Powell of Jasper, Mo.; and a daughter, Mrs. John Krow of West Burlington.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Keating-McKasson Funeral chapel in Creston, conducted by the Rev. J. Heber Miller, of the Methodist Church. Burial was made in Graceland cemetery at Creston.
