Obituary

Lovey Singleton was born in Bartholomew county, Indiana, April 25, 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Boling, near Barney, July 27, 1895. She was married to Lloyd Bivin, in 1855, and in the fall of 1856 they moved to Iowa, settling in Madison county. Her husband died eighteen years ago, leaving her to care for their three children. Mrs. Bivin was converted at the age of nineteen and united with the M. E. church, of which church she continued a member until her death. The funeral services were held July 28, at the residence; the sermon was preached by Rev. Harvey of Lorimor, from John, xiv. 1-3. A large company followed the remains to their final resting place, in the Barney cemetery. R. E. H.
