DORIS GLAZEBROOK, Winterset

Doris Alice Glazebrook, 91, died Dec. 6, 2006, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating. Burial was at Murray Cemetery.

Doris Glazebrook was born Aug. 1, 1915, to William “Pete” and Bessie Orena (Woods) McCarl of Grand River and received her education in the Grand River School District. Her marriage to William Perry Glazebrook took place Jan. 27, 1932. She and her husband lived on a farm south of Murray until the mid 1960s, when they moved to town. Doris worked at Snowdon’s for over 20 years — first as a seamstress and then retiring as an inspector. She also attended the Baptist Church in Murray. Doris had been a resident of West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation in Winterset for over six years.

She was preceded in death by her husband and an infant sister, Louise.

She is survived by one son, Donald Glazebrook of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Norma Lineweaver of Winterset and Carol Rinner of Plattsmouth, Neb.; a brother, Clifford McCarl of Marion; and four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
