MRS. ELSIE PORTER OF MACKSBURG DIES

Mrs. Elsie P. Porter of Macksburg died last Wednesday, Sept. 8 at a St. Charles nursing home. She was 73 years of age.

Mrs. Porter was a native of Taylor county, where she was born Nov. 16, 1891. She was the former Elsie Baker, daughter of John and Sarah Baker.

She was married in 1952 to Alfred Porter. His death occurred about a year ago.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Nearest surviving relatives are three brothers, Rufus and Thomas Baker of Macksburg and George Baker of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Shepard of Scranton, Kansas.

Funeral services were held last Saturday in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
