MILDRED PICKENS DIES AT 42 YEARS

Funeral Held on Thursday With Burial in Peru Cemetery

Mrs. Robert Pickens of Truro died Monday, Oct. 19, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 42 years.

Mrs. Pickens was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was the former Mildred Robshaw, daughter of Henry and Ethel Morgan Robshaw and was born in this county Dec. 31, 1921.

She was a member of the Peru Methodist church, and Post 8142 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.

She was married Dec. 30, 1944, at Peru, to Robert Pickens, who survives her. She also leaves her parents; four brothers, Marvin Armstrong of Truro, Orville Armstrong of Des Moines, Merill Robshaw of Omaha and Johnie Robshaw of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Rhone of Peru and Mrs. Edna Mathews of Marysville, Calif.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Kale Funeral home at Truro, in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.
