MRS. ERNEST FIELD DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Mrs. Ernest Field, former resident of Winterset, died Saturday night, Aug. 18, at Colusa, Calif. She had been making her home in Colusa with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Cale.

Mrs. Field was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was born in this county, and after her marriage to Ernest Field, her home was in Winterset for many years. She moved to California about two years ago. Her husband died in 1947.

She is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Cale; three brothers, Walter Brown of Patterson, Alson Brown of Long Beach, Calif.; and Bradley Brown of Adel; and a sister, Mrs. Allie Fowler of Moline, Ill.

The body is being returned to Winterset for funeral services and burial. The Anderson home for funerals is handling arrangements, but no date for the service had been set as the Madisonian went to press.

SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. E. C. FIELD

Funeral services were held last Friday from Anderson's home for funeral for Mrs. E. C. Field, whose death occurred Aug. 18 at Colusa, Calif. The Rev. LeRoy Bussinger, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Funeral services had been held in Colusa, also, prior to returning the body to Winterset.

Mrs. Field was born in Madison county, near Winterset, and spent her life here, except for a few years in the states of Washington, Wyoming and Arkansas, before moving to California three years ago to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Frank Cale.

She was married to E. C. Field on May 10, 1913, and most of her married life was spent in Winterset, where he was a carpenter and builder. Her husband preceded her in death, in 1947.

During her long residence here she was a member of the Foursquare church and the Royal Neighbor lodge.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Cale of Colusa; a sister, Mrs. Phoebe Fowler of Moline, Ill., and three brothers, W. W. Brown of Patterson, B. B. Brown of Adel and A. L. Brown of Los Angeles.
