Funeral at Fort Dodge for James Booth, 62

Funeral services for James W. Booth, 62, derrick engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad, who died at Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge, July 28th, after a short illness, were held Tuesday, July 31st in Fort Dodge at Bruces Memorial Chapel. Burial was made in North Lawn Cemetery.

Graveside military rites were conducted by representatives of the Fort Dodge Veterans of Foreign Wars post. Mr. Booth, a veteran of World War I, was a member of the V.F.W. He had been an employee of the Illinois Central Railroad for 32 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elvina Cook and Miss Shirley Ann Booth, both of Fort Dodge, one granddaughter, three sisters, Mrs. Byron Brown of Campbell, California, Mrs. Oscar Peacock of St. Clair, Missouri and Mrs. Hubert Woolery of Earlham, and three brothers, Clyde Booth of Landers, Wyoming, Roy Booth of Forbeston, California and Clarence Booth of Ft. Dodge.

Born on September 30, 1893, in Patterson, he was raised in that community. He served in the Rainbow division during World War I and moved to Fort Dodge 35 years ago. He had been on leave of absence from his job with the railroad since last March because of failing health.
