Mr. Weems was 61 years of age. He was born in Polk county April 1, 1895, a son of Norval and Anna Harvey Weems. Twenty years ago he moved into Winterset, and had been engaged in business here since that time.

During his residence here Mr. Weems had been active in the civic and religious life of his community. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in which he served as minister and teacher of Sunday school. He served two terms on the Winterset city council, and was a member of the Commercial club and Sportsmen's club.

He was married, on Dec. 20, 1919, to Cleo Pearl Dean, in Wisconsin. One of their sons, Richard, preceded the father in death. Surviving are the wife; two sons, Percy and Byron Weems, and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of Elder Henry Castings of Des Moines. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
