NELSON FINNEY DIES AT 75 YEARS OF AGE

Nelson Finney, a widely known resident of Webster township for many years, died Tuesday evening, July 24, at a Winterset nursing home. He was 75 years of age.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Charles Bellus. Burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.

Webster Township Resident Died on July 24 in Winterset

Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Richards Funeral home for Nelson R. Finney, well-known Webster township farmer, whose death occurred July 24 at the age of 75 years. The Rev. Charles Bellus pastor of the Oak Grove church conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Finney was born near Winterset on Dec. 4, 1880, only son of Lorenzo and Sarah A. Finney. His boyhood was spent in Winterset, where he attended public schools. When he was 16 years of age he moved to a farm with his parents.

On Oct. 12, 1904, he was married to Mary Grace Hindman of Webster township. They were parents of one son and one daughter. They farmed for seven years in Webster township, then moved to western Nebraska where they lived for 30 years on a farm. They returned in 1941 to Madison county, purchasing a farm in Webster township.

On June 21, after several months of illness, he was taken to Memorial hospital in Winterset, and three weeks later was moved to a nursing home here, where his death occurred.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Kenneth Finney of Alexandria, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Charles O. Brown of Winslow, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
