Samuel E. Pearson of Des Moines, died Sunday, May 7, 1978, there at Broadlawns Hospital. He was born November 25, 1909, in Madison County, the son of Leonard L. and Etta V. Lamb Pearson.
Mr. Pearson was raised Madison County and attended Winterset schools. He was a World War Two veteran, awarded the Purple Heart. Later he moved to Des Moines where he worked at Anderson Erickson until his retirement.
Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Emma; five step-daughters, Donna Butler, Pauline Reynolds, Mildred Lacky and Roberta Young, all of Des Moines and Colleen Lacky of West Berlin, Germany; two step-sons, David Darrah of Sioux City and Ivan Crawford of Des Moines; 13 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren; also two brothers, Ernest and Loyal Pearson and a sister, Gladys Kimmel, all of Winterset.
Funeral services for Samuel Pearson were conducted Wednesday, May 10, from Hamilton's Funeral Home with burial at Highland Memory Gardens.
