Death of George Hultz

George Hultz, who had been living in Madison county during the past twenty-three years, died with heart trouble at his home on East Court avenue about midnight, Tuesday night, November 26. Mr. Hultz had not been feeling well for several days, but was up town Tuesday afternoon and walked to his home in the east part of town. Tuesday night he was in his grocery store, across the street from his home. An attack of heart trouble caused his death at midnight.

Mr. Hultz, who was 61 years of age, was born in St. Clare county, Illinois, May 2, 1868. He was married to Miss Mildred N. Wilkins on February 24, 1897, and they were the parents of four children. Mrs. Hultz died March 25, 1909, and he was married to Mrs. Amanda Willcox, March 22, 1922.

The Hultz family came to this county in 1906, and they located in the Patterson neighborhood. They later moved near the Elm Grove church and they lived for a time on a farm south of Winterset. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Hultz moved to Winterset, and since that time had operated the grocery store on East Court avenue that he had purchased.

Mr. Hultz has many friends in this county who will mourn his sudden death. He is survived by his wife and three children, Loren Levi and Miss Edith, of Boston, and Howard, of Des Moines. The children from Boston have started west and plan to arrive here Friday morning. Definite funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but if the children arrive Friday morning, funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, at the Methodist church in Patterson and burial will be made in the Mt. Pelier cemetery.
