Galen William Camp, 87, of Murray died of renal failure and congestive heart failure Jan. 22, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 27, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Marty Burgus officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery, Clarke County, with military rites performed by William-Lochrie American Legion Post 405 of Murray.
Galen Camp was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Madison County to William Perry and Jennie Margaret (Schell) Camp. He attended Clarke County country schools, graduating from Murray High School. Galen retired in 1976 from Henderson and Burgus Oil Company where he had worked for 28 years driving a tank wagon and working as a mechanic. He also had worked in Washington State for a brief time. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of William-Lochrie American Legion Post 405.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Charlotte May Fleming.
He is survived by three sisters, Edith Fleming and Jean Hunter, both of Murray, and Margaret Cox of Nevada, Iowa.
