Marilyn L. Bown, 66, died November 25, 2003 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, with Evangelist Tom Woody officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Wallace Cemetery in Wick.
Marilyn was born August 17, 1937 in Cambria, Iowa to Eldon and Dorothy (Davis) Fetters. She was a graduate of Seymour, Iowa. On June 14, 1958, she married Arlis D. Bown. She was a loving mother and faithful wife. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and helping her husband around the farm. She was a very caring and loving person who had the biggest heart of all. Her main goal in this life was to serve the Lord, whom she loved and to encourage other to do the same through her kind words and her example. Marilyn was a faithful member of the Martensdale Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Arlis Bown of St. Charles; three daughters, Deanne Duckstein of Anchorage, AK, Connie Ward of Mt. Pleasant and Rhonda Moody of St. Charles, one son, Rick Bown of St. Charles, her parents, Eldon and Dorothy Fetters of Chariton; two sisters, Marlene Bown of Martensdale and Marcia Van Egdom of Albia; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
