MRS. J. B. CLARK DIED THURSDAY

Had Been Madison County Resident for 56 Years

Mrs. J. B. Clark, a resident of Madison county for 56 yeas, died last Thursday, Feb. 9, at a Winterset Nursing home. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Clark was the former Hannah Elizabeth Chapman, a native of Webster county, where she was born Sept. 24, 1879, a daughter of J. W. and Laura S. Chapman. Her early life was spent in Nebraska, but she came to Madison county in 1900 and this community had been her home since that time.

She was a member of the Winterset Christian church and the Rebekah lodge.

She is survived by two sons, F. Vernon Clark of Winterset and C. Orval Clark of Des Moines; two granddaughters, Janice Vee Clark of Winterset and Mrs. George West of Des Moines; and a brother, Claude L. Chapman of Adel and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday from Anderson's home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
