Lila Louise Parker, 73, of Wick died of cancer Dec. 15, 1998 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 18, at Truro Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Richard Harbart of Johnston officiating. Burial was at Wallace Cemetery at Wick.
Lila Parker was born Oct. 1, 1925 at Truro to Paul Otis and Elvina Louise (Powers) Roby. She graduated in 1942 from Truro Consolidated High School. She married Fredrick Roswell Parker March 28, 1945, at the Christian Church parsonage in Winterset. A resident of Wick for 37 years, she was a homemaker. Lila also was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Judith Parker of Wick, Cheryl Sinclair of Altoona and Lucinda Parker of West Des Moines; four sons, Fredrick Parker Jr. (wife Imson) and Richard Parker Sr. (wife Laura) both of Wick, William Parker Sr. (wife Rose) of St. Marys and James Parker Sr. (wife Debbie) of Prole; two sisters, Betty Williams of Des Moines and Ann Parker (husband Bob) of Indianola; one brother, Paul Roby Jr. (wife Cleo) of Red Oak; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Roby of Aptos, Calif., and Delores Roby of Indianola; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Home in Truro.

Lila Louise Parker, daughter of Paul Otis and Elvina Louise Powers Roby, was born Oct. 1, 1925, at Truro and died at her residence Dec. 15, 1998. She was 73.
She attended Truro schools and graduated from Truro Consolidated High School in 1942.
She married Fredrick Roswell Parker on March 28, 1945, at the Christian Church parsonage in Winterset. The couple became the parents of seven children.
Mr. and Mrs. Parker lived in their home in Wick for the past 37years. A homemaker, Mrs. Parker enjoyed her family. She especially liked to cook for her children and grandchildren and she was fond of flowers.
Mrs. Parker was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Shirley Peppmeier and two brothers, Otis and Richard Roby.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Fredrick Parker Sr. of Wick; three daughters, Judith Parker of Wick, and Cheryl Sinclair of Altoona and Lucinda Parker of West Des Moines; four sons, Fredrick Parker Jr. and his wife, Im Son Parker and Richard Parker Sr. and his wife Laura Parker all of Wick, William Parker Sr. and his wife, Rose Parker, of St. Marys, James Parker Sr. and his wife, Debbie Parker, of Prole; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Williams of Des Moines and Ann Parker and her husband, Bob Parker, of Indianola; a brother, Paul Roby Jr. and his wife, Cleo Roby, of Red Oak; two sister-in-law, Pauline Roby of Aptos, Calif. and Dolores Roby of Indianola; other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Parker were Dec. 18 at the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ, the Rev. Richard Harbart officiating. Organist Doris Johnson played the congregational hymns, In the Garden and Old Rugged Cross.
Casket bearers were Mrs. Parker’s grandsons, Richard Parker Jr., William Parker, Thomas Parker, Joseph Parker, James Parker Jr. and Cory Sinclair. Interment was in Wallace Cemetery at Wick with Kale Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Memorial may be made to Iowa Chapter of the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Central Iowa.
