Leatha B. Snider died Monday, Oct. 13, 1980, at Villa West Care Center at the age of 92. She had lived in St. Charles for over 20 years before moving to Winterset in 1975.
Born on Nov. 22, 1887, in Warren County, she was the daughter of John and Annie Simmons Young. She was united in marriage to Tom U. Snider on Feb. 19, 1913, in Des Moines. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1975. A homemaker, Mrs. Snider attended the Christian Church at St. Charles.
Survivors include a son, Carol of Winterset; a grandchild; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a step-great grandchild; and a sister, Vera Hutt of Indianola.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Snider was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Collins Funeral Home with Dwight Ingram officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
